
Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, is situated approximately five kilometres south of the city of Chiang Rai and is a privately-owned art exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple. Its owner, the visual artist and painter Chalermchai Kositpipat, opened it to the public in 1997. Construction work is still ongoing and is not expected to be completed until 2070.
